Quicksilver Spirit
Quicksilver Art & Spirit is a place for musings, sharing ideas about the qualities of creativity, artistic expression, and their relationship to spirituality. The Quiet Woman site is a place where I have posted sermons I've written and delivered, some to the chagrin of certain hearers, which made me think of the name for the blog. That particular backstory takes me back to my days in Newport Beach, to one of my favorite lunch spots, an eatery called "The Quiet Woman". Its mascot was an old carved wooden figurehead from a sailing ship-of a decapitated woman! The implication, of course, was that she had been too mouthy and got her head shot off. Since this has occasionally been the experience of all preachers but more often of women preachers, I thought the name ironic. I do not intend to go quietly.
